A native New Yorker, Dr. Andrew Zeidman has practiced oral and maxillofacial surgery for over 23 years. Dr. Zeidman received a dual-degree Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and studied dentistry at Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery. He went on to complete residencies in both General Practice Dentistry and subsequently Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at SUNY Downstate where he served as Chief Resident from 1987-1988. He immediately began private practice with the group started by the legendary Dr. Harry Seldin.
Regarded as a pioneer in the field, Dr. Zeidman has paved the way for new and innovative practices used in Orthognatic surgery and TMJ arthoscopy. He has published articles in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology magazine. Most notably, for the past five years, Dr. Zeidman has served as the on-call oral surgeon to the New York Knicks. He also placed 3rd in the 2011 annual Boca Raton ice-fishing tournament- though many speculate that he was robbed of the title.
Dr. Zeidman’s hospital affiliations include: Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, Assistant Attending in Dentistry from 1988-present and St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital Center, Assisting Attendant in Dentistry from 1989-present. He is also a member of several professional organizations, namely: the “American Dental Association,” “American Dental Society of Anesthesiology,” “First District Dental Society,” “American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons,” “NY State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons,” and “Academy of Osseointegration.”
Dr. Zeidman lives in Dix Hills, NY and is married with three children.
